Terms & Conditions of Application and Participation
The Journey 7.0 (Airports Edition)

When you submit your application form to participate in The Journey 7.0 – Airports Edition, you agree to the following terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) related to your application for, and if selected, participation in, the Program.

Section One: Conditions of Application

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply for the Program, your startup must:

  • Be legally incorporated in any country and provide proof of registration if requested.
  • Be less than 10 years old at the date of application.
  • Offer a product, service, or technology that contributes to at least one of the following focus areas:
    • Smart Infrastructures & Operations (IoT, predictive analytics, automation, digital twins);
    • Sustainability & Green Technologies (energy efficiency, carbon reduction, sustainable materials, circular economy, SAF, hydrogen);
    • Passenger Journey & Experience (biometrics, accessibility, seamless travel, comfort and services);
    • Data & Decision Intelligence (AI, cybersecurity, resilience, data management);
    • Urban & Mobility Integration (multimodal transport, parking, connectivity).
  • Have a pilot-ready solution that can be tested in a real airport environment.
  • Startups based solely on consulting services are not eligible.

Selection and Schedule

Applications meeting the above criteria will be reviewed by the Program Members (Beta-i, ANA Aeroportos de Portugal – VINCI Airports, and strategic partners).
Startups may be contacted for clarification during the evaluation phase.

Indicative Schedule (subject to change):

Applications Open – 7th October 2025
Applications Close – 28th November 2025
Selection Results – December 2025
Bootcamp – January 2026
Pilot Development Phase February – June 2026
All times are in Lisbon Time (WEST) .

Submission and Closing Time

Applications must be submitted electronically via the official application page on F6S before the closing deadline.
Late applications may be considered at the Program Members’ discretion but there is no obligation to do so.

Evaluation Criteria

Applications will be evaluated based on the following dimensions:

  • Team: Experience, skills, and capacity to execute.
  • Product / Solution: Innovation, scalability, and technological relevance.
  • Market: Market potential and readiness for pilot implementation.
  • Business Model: Viability and economic logic.
  • Program Fit: Relevance to the challenges and goals of the partners.

Decisions are made at the discretion of the Program Members and are final.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in writing about the outcome of their application.
The Program Members are not obliged to provide specific reasons for non-selection.

Costs of Application

All costs associated with preparing and submitting the application are the applicant’s responsibility.

Conflict of Interest

Applicants must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest related to their participation.
Existing commercial relationships with Program Members are not considered conflicts, but should be disclosed.

Ownership and Intellectual Property

All application materials become the property of the Program Members upon submission.
Applicants retain ownership of all intellectual property (IP).
By submitting an application, you grant the Program Members a limited license to review, reproduce, or adapt the material solely for:

  • Evaluating the application;
  • Managing participation in the Program;
  • Exploring potential collaborations beyond the Program’s scope.

The management and protection of IP remain the sole responsibility of the participant.

Fair Conduct

Applicants must not:

  • Submit misleading information or false statements;
  • Engage in anti-competitive, collusive, or unlawful conduct;
  • Use unauthorized information or influence any Program Member employee.

Program Member Rights

The Program Members reserve the right to:

  • Suspend, amend, or cancel the Program or selection process;
  • Modify the application form or evaluation criteria;
  • Accept or reject applications at their sole discretion;
  • Extend or change deadlines;
  • Terminate participation of any applicant;
  • Publish the names of selected or non-selected applicants.

Section Two: Conditions of Participation

Benefits for Selected Startups

Selected startups (“Participants”) will:

  • Join The Journey 7.0 Program run by Beta-i and ANA Aeroportos de Portugal (VINCI Airports).
  • Participate in a structured process including:
    • Bootcamp: Definition of pilots and matching with partners (Presencial, Portugal);
    • Pilot Phase: Co-design and testing of the solution in airport environments;
    • Final Event: Presentation of pilot results to partners and stakeholders (Online).
  • Gain access to mentorship, partner resources, and visibility within the tourism and aviation ecosystem.

All sessions will be conducted in English and may be held onsite and/or remotely.

Termination and Changes

Program Members may terminate a Participant’s involvement if:

  • The Participant breaches these Terms and Conditions; or
  • The Participant’s representatives engage in unlawful, unethical, or disruptive behavior.

Program Members may modify or terminate the Program at any time, with reasonable notice to Participants.

Liability Waiver

Participation in the Program is at the Participant’s own risk.
Program Members are not liable for any personal injury, property loss, or other damages arising from participation, except in cases of gross negligence or breach of confidentiality.
Participants may withdraw from the Program at any time at their own cost.

Data Protection & Confidentiality

Personal and company data collected through the application process will be processed by Beta-i and shared with Program Members (ANA Aeroportos de Portugal, VINCI Airports, and strategic partners) exclusively for purposes related to the management of the Program, in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR – Regulation (EU) 2016/679).
Applicants may at any time request access, rectification, or deletion of their personal data by contacting Beta-i at geral@beta-i.com.

All Program Members undertake to maintain the confidentiality of any non-public information disclosed by Participants during the Program, including business models, technical details, or proprietary materials, except where disclosure is legally required or expressly authorized by the Participant.
Participants are also responsible for protecting any confidential information received from the Program Members or partners.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Portuguese law.
Any disputes arising in connection with the Program shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Courts of Lisbon, Portugal.
